Items to remember to bring are:
- Proof from your veterinarian that your dog is current on DHPP and rabies
vaccinations, and Bordetella (for kennel cough)
- Proof of a fecal (stool) check within the last 3 months indicating a
negative result for parasites (or that your dog has been medicated, if
positive). Current vaccinations and fecal check are necessary for your dog
to board at our kennel. As all dogs staying with us share outside walking
space for regular daily exercise, this is assurance that both your dog and
dogs staying here are protected in a healthy environment. We provide fecal
checks for our clients at our facility.
- Dog’s food in a container or Ziploc bags (please label with dog’s name).
*We provide food and water dishes*
- Bed or blanket that can be entirely washed in the washing machine, if
needed; or, we can supply a blanket
- Medications (which must be marked with dog’s name)
- Brush (if we are requested to brush your dog)
- Rawhide (if you want your dog to chew on)
- Toys/bones (we also have plenty here)
- Treats (we have plenty here, if you don’t have a preference)
Bringing your dog’s own supplies will help your dog feel more comfortable
with their new surroundings. Keeping them on their same food will help ensure
normal digestion.
At your dog’s arrival, if an illness seems apparent, your dog may not be able
to enter our kennel without a veterinarian’s approval. If your dog is found to
have fleas during their stay, they will be treated with an application of
Frontline Plus, cost which must be reimbursed by the owner.
It is a good idea not to feed dog(s) less than four hours before arriving, if
possible. The excitement or stress of the new environment can upset their
systems at first.
We encourage owners to call us anytime while they are away to see how their
dog(s) are doing. If we cannot answer, leave a message and we will call you back
promptly.
